What if you could measure morphology without touching a microscope?

Deepcell Express is the first mail-in brightfield imaging and AI analysis service for cells, which uses Deepcell’s proprietary REM-i platform for high-content cell morpholomics analysis.

You send your samples, we handle the imaging and analysis and return a complete morphology report ready for figures, QC, or screening.

Built for CRISPR functional genomics, drug screening, stem cell biology, cell QC and general phenotypic screening, Deepcell Express replaces hours of microscope time with automated, AI-powered analysis.

Who Uses Deepcell Express

RESEARCH INDUSTRY/AREA

  • Example Use Case

    High-content phenotyping of perturbation libraries

    Description/Application

Combine CRISPR knockouts or perturb-seq designs with morphology-based phenotyping to identify novel gene-function relationships and cellular responses without labels.

  • Example Use Case

Early phenotypic signature detection & toxicity profiling

    Description/Application

Screen compounds by linking morphological changes in cells to functional outcomes, de-risking candidate selection.

  • Example Use Case

Quality control and state monitoring of engineered cell products

    Description/Application

Use morphological profiling to detect heterogeneity, off-target states, or degradations in manufacturing pipelines.

  • Example Use Case

    Characterizing cell differentiation pathways

    Description/Application

Monitor morphological changes in stem cell lineages (or organoids) over time to capture intermediate states and transitions.

  • Example Use Case

Tumor heterogeneity profiling & rare cell identification

    Description

Use REM-I to identify tumor subpopulations (e.g. therapy-resistant cells) without labels.

  • Example Use Case

    Label-free immune subtype profiling

    Description/Application

Distinguish immune cell subtypes (e.g. activated vs naïve T cells) based purely on morphology and enrich populations for further analysis.

Sample Preparation Guidelines

We recommend submitting fixed or cryopreserved cell suspension samples to minimize any risk of phenotypic changes during shipment.

Please adhere to a single sample format (fixed/cryopreserved) per order.

If you need to ship live samples, please contact us at express@deepcellbio.com in advance.

  • Samples must be compatible with BSL-2 laboratory standards.

  • Samples must consist of cells in suspension. Accepted formats: non-adherent cells, adherent cells in suspension, dissociated organoids or tissue biopsies.

  • Cell diameter: 6-25 µm. In special cases, we may accommodate samples slightly outside this range, please contact express@deepcellbio.com for confirmation.

  • Minimum cell count: Each aliquot should contain at least 1 × 10⁶ cells.

  • Samples should have a viability of ≥50% prior to freezing or fixation.

If Shipping Cryopreserved Samples

  • Please email express@deepcellbio.com with your cell handling protocol and include any reagents required for thawing or preparing single-cell suspensions, if applicable.
